The Senate house committee on ethics, privileges and public petitions held two (2) petitions today Wednesday May 19, 2021 in respect of a petition by George Uboh Against MTN Nigeria Limited, Attorney – General of the Federation, Central bank Governor, the Managing Directors, Standard Chartered bank and Stanbic IBTC Bank for frustrating the Recovery of Fund in the sum of $25, 698,363,716.40 Back to the Federation Account.

The second petition is against the Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Access Bank Plc for Alleged Diversion of 1.993 Trillion Naira from inception of EFCC Till 2013.

The Chairman of the Committee Senator Ayo Akinyelure was present with other members of the committee. George Uboh (The petitioner) was present to make his presentation).

Unfortunately, MTN Nigeria Limited, Attorney – General of the Federation, Central bank Governor, the managing Directors, Standard Chartered bank and Stanbic IBTC Bank, Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Access Bank Plc failed to appear at the public hearing.

This only buttresses their respective culpability and lack of defense.

The Hearing was adjourned to June 7, 2021 by Chairman of the Committee, Senator Ayo Akinyelure.
